"What is better than to sit at the end of a day and drink wine with friends, or substitute for friends." -James Joyce
Please join us this Saturday, March 15th, from the hours of 12-4 PM for a superb selection of lesser known, excellent quality wines and beer. We've picked out the ones that we know are divine, yet haven't received the attention they deserve.
Willm Pinot Blanc- French White
The New York Times raves "Well, have I got a grail for you. Willm Pinot Blanc from the Alsace region of France is a fresh, lively white wine that will go with just about anything that is traditionally accompanied by white wine." WIllm Pinot Blanc is a soft aromatic wine, with a delightful balance of round fruit and dryness. It is delicious and smooth by itself or with chicken, turkey, pasta, shrimp and fish preparations.
Beccaris Moscato D'Asti- Italian white
A white wine, intensely straw-gold colored, more or less intense depending on its provenience and harvest. It has a delicious, long scent, musky because of the summing of fruity and underwoody elements, a sweet and balanced taste, honest and delicate.
Herencia Antica Tempranillo- Spanish red
"To produce Herencia Antica Reserva we have selected the finest Tempranillo grapes from our 150-hectare Estate. The wine that we obtain from these carefully handpicked grapes is aged in new American oak barrels for 12 months, finally maturing in bottle to integrate the wine's complex aroma and structure, which characterizes our Reserva wines. 100% Tempranillo. Great with barbecued meats, game paella and cheese. "
Ballentine Vineyards Zinfandel- Californian red
Tasting Notes
Our 1999 Zinfandel has a very deep garnet-purple hue, with vibrant black cherry/blueberry aromas. This Zinfandel has a rich caramel toast and spiciness, expressive jam and a concentration built around a core of red fruits ranging from raspberry to plum, combined with the varietal characteristic of cracked black pepper. The palate has a full, lush entry, a rich concentration of expressive flavors with an intense velvety texture. The wine, envelopes the senses with flavor and texture - balanced acidity, a broad mouthfeel with supple tannin, and an intense berry finish.
Varietal Composition: 97.3% Zinfandel, 2.7% Syrah
Rockhopper Lager- Chilean beer
Pure Chilean mountain spring water and German noble hops blend to create the perfect hybrid of South American flavor and Old Country character in ROCKHOPPER Import. The result is a refreshing, exceptionally smooth and well-balanced lager with a super clean finish!
